Las Vegas

Une ville incroyable dans un monde de fous. Voici un patchwork de ma visite à Las Vegas en Janvier 2001. C'est une ville à visiter de nuit. Voici mes images prises de nuit.

An incredible city in a crasy world. Here is a patchwork of my visit in Las Vegas in January 2001. Las Vegas must be visited at least by night. Here you we find almost all picture taken at night.

Vue phénoménale à partir de la tour stratosphère. The Great view from stratosphere tower.

 

A Las Vegas, les casinos sont au premier niveau de chaque hotel, tous repartis le long de cette avenue principale. Le look de chaque hotel reproduit divers endroits du monde (Paris, Venise, New York, ...)

In Las Vegas, the biggest casino are on the first floor of each Hotel along one main avenue. Each hotel has its specifics shows and attractions. The look is different too and reproduces various location of the world.

 

New York New York Entouré d'une des meilleures montagnes russes que j'ai jamais essayée... Enlevez vraiment vos lunettes sinon vous les perdrez ! Encircled with one of the best roler coaster I have tried. Take your glasses off or you will loose them!	Paris La tour Eiffel à l'échelle 1/3 reproduite très fidèlement. Très réaliste ! The Eiffel tower built probably with the original documents makes it very realistic (scale evaluated at 1/3) is one of the French monuments you can find nearby.
Bellagio Avec ses jets d'eau culminant à plus de 40m synchronisés avec la musique, c'est une des attractions principales de l'avenue. With its musical fountains that rises at more than 40 m and plays with the music, it is one of the attraction of the avenue	Excalibur Un véritable chateau ! The only hotel in a castle shape. It is actually huge.
MGM Le plus grand hotel de tous (5000 chambres). On peut se perdre dans le casino ! The Metro Goldwin Meyer Hotel. The biggest of Las Vegas (more than 5000 rooms). The casino is huge and you my get lost inside !	Bellagio & Ceasar's palace Deux splendides hotels aussi bien à l'extérieur qu'à l'intérireur. In-con-tour-na-bles ! The giant notice board in the foreground (30m?) hides the Bellagio. On the right, the Ceasar's pallace, the most increadible hotel (inside), do not miss it !

 

Quoi d'autres à visiter à Las Vegas ? Rien si ce n'est LE barrage.
What else to see in Las Vegas ?? Nothing except the desert or THE DAM.

 

A 1 ou 2 heures du centre ville, voici le Hoover dam. 4GWatts de puissance nominale (4 tranches nucléaire !). 200m de haut... et des arrivées aux turbines de 10m de diamètre ! The Hoover dam is a dam located 1 to 2 hour drive from Las Vegas at the border of Arizona. It produces 4 GWatt in normal production (more than 4 nuclear PWR based units). The water pipelines are about 10m wide ! and the dam is 200 m high.

 

Yosemite Nat'l Park

Le Yosemite National Park est situé à l'interieur des rocheuses en Californie. En Hiver, les routes sont réglementées ou même fermées duà la neige et à la glace. Quand j'y suis allé, une tempete de neige etait passée et les paysages etaient magnifiques.

The Yosemite park is inside the rocky mountains in California. In winter, roads are restricted or even close due to snow and ice conditions. When I went there, a snow storm just occured and the landscape was beautiful.

 

Petits sapins de 30m de haut (on voit un 4x4 au fond pour l'echelle) 30m high trees covered with snow fallen just 2 two days before. On the right far side of the road, a big (but appearing small) 4 x 4 with lights on is visible.	Le half-dome, l'attraction de Yosemite.
